Back in June, the lead stylist for LuLaRoe contacted me to be in a LuLaRoe video shoot. It was so unexpected, but I was also super excited. Being regreammed, restoried, or asked to be in a photo/video shoot for LuLaRoe has always been a DREAM for me. I am so excited to share with you my experience and this amazing styling video.
GETTING NOTICED ON INSTAGRAM BY LULAROE
First, I should touch upon the fact, I work really hard to have a strong Instagram game. You can also read my past post about how I maximize my social media outfit pics. This is how I was noticed by LuLaRoe. You can follow me here.
PREP FOR THE VIDEO SHOOT
I was told to bring 3 outfits centered around the Jill skirt. I actually think I only owned 3-4 Jill skirts anyway, so I brought outfits centered around those. We were told to come with hair and make up already done. Initially, I was little disappointed I was hoping for “star” treatment with hair and make up done for me, but the outcome was actually SO much better than anything I could have hoped for.
The night before, I had a blowout at my favorite place, Drybar. That morning I did my makeup with my Beautycounter regimen. (Want to know more about Beautycoutner? Contact me or shop here). I drove up that next morning to LuLaRoe Home Office in Corona, CA. I truly had no idea of what to expect.
THE DAY OF THE SHOOT
Kelsey greeted me when I walked into the building. Side note: I totally fangirled when meeting her. I was the first to arrive (that NEVER happens) and I signed the release waivers. When more of us arrived, we were taken to a gorgeous room – bright white with dressing rooms, and stylish decor. There was a rack with my name on it. I dunno why, but this made me feel like a star. We hung up the outfits we brought on our racks and laid out our shoes.
The premise of this video was explained to us. This video would be aired an LuLaRoe Convention, Vision ’18. The theme for Vision was CONNECT. They wanted to capture us CONNECTING with each other through LuLaRoe by picking our outfits, accessories, shoes, and playing dress up. They really wanted to showcase all of our own personal styles. (Hence, that is why we had to come with our own hair and make up done).
We then got to raid the LuLaRoe “closet.” Basically a room with inventory and we got to pull some new Jill skirts and outfits to go with it. It was so awesome to pull pieces with other retailers and help each other find prints and pieces to help us build our wardrobe for the day. The production team videoed us unpacking our new LuLaRoe and hanging on our racks. We also got to raid the LuLaRoe shoe closet – OMG. We each playfully shot in 3 outfits and did on camera interviews about our personal style.
THE FINISHED PRODUCT
This video aired before the Fashion Show at Vision. I am in love with it, and so honored I was able to be apart of this. I hope you love it as much as I do.
I love that LuLaRoe featured a diverse array of retailers in this video. You can see how versatile the Jill skirt is here. I also wish everyone could experience the kindness and helpfulness from LuLaRoe team members. They went out of their way to make sure we had a great day and no detail was overlooked. I’m humbled and proud I was able to represent them and excited I can share this with you all.
