Since I became a LuLaRoe Retailer, I have always worked full time. My LuLaRoe Rank is Trainer and I want to tell you that you indeed CAN have a job and sell LuLaRoe. In honest and full disclosure, it is not always easy, but I will share some tips and tools that can help you. I also invite you to join my interest group specifically for people interested in becoming Retailers while also working.
Why Do You Want To Sell LuLaRoe
First, it’s important to start with your “why.” My initial “why” in selling LuLaRoe was to make some extra money on the side. I began this opportunity as a side hustle, and it is still a side hustle to this day. My big “why” is to NEVER SAY NO TO LIFE. I want to have the freedom to do all the things. I never want to be constrained to the balance in my checking account, or limit on my credit card. But mostly, it is because I want to provide my daughter the opportunities in life that I did not have growing up.
What Is Your End Game
Before you venture on this journey, it’s important to consider what your end game is. Do you ultimately want to quit your job? Or do you want to keep doing this on the side? I have met many direct sellers/small business owners who made the leap to be full time. For me personally, I do enjoy my job and am not doing LuLaRoe to quit that job. Actually, I want to achieve the highest levels I can while working to prove to people you CAN have a successful side hustle.
My ultimate end game is to grow my social media and online presence where I can earn passive income to live the life of my dreams – and to be honest, this might be the point where leaving corporate America becomes an option. Then I want to be philanthropic with my LuLaRoe business and give back. I was fortunate to be the recipient of a pretty generous scholarship from Nordstrom in high school. Because of that, I was the first in my family to graduate college. There is a calling on my heart to give back and my end game is for my LuLaRoe business to allow me to do that.
So HOW Do You Do It?
Time management is key. It does not have to be some fancy system. I’ve tried almost every paper planner out there. They just don’t work for me. I schedule most things on my ical/phone calendar, and the majority of my business is done after work in the evenings, sometimes very late at night. (I really do need to power hour in the morning, but I just love sleep too much. The Power Hour is where you wake up one hour earlier than anyone else and get tasks done. Again, I cherish my sleep and am NOT a morning person – LOL).
I do a lot of my business online in my Facebook community. Occasionally I will do open houses or events on the weekend. Facebook Live is another great format, and I am working on being more consistent with that. My shopping community knows my lives are typically in the evenings or on weekends. This is part of building your personal brand and sharing with your community who you are.
Know that not only will you invest in your LuLaRoe inventory to start, but you’ll want to account for tools out there to help you. I take my inventory pictures with photo app that automatically uploads to my inventory management program. The shipping program I use is integrated with the LuLaRoe invoicing system to save time. I use an electronic loyalty program for rewards and returns/exchanges (I used to manual track, but the time I was spending was keeping me from getting other more important stuff done). I subscribe to a Pinterest/Instagram scheduling program so it can post for me automatically at optimized times. While these all cost money, they are an investment in my business to help me do more important income producing activities. At some point, I may consider an assistant, but right now I’ve found (mostly) a good balance.
This is YOUR Journey
It is important to remember this journey is yours and to stay focused on your goals. I aim now to keep an inventory of under 1000 pieces because that inventory level is manageable with LuLaRoe as my side gig. While there are big sellers out there, I work hard to remember this is my race at my pace. It’s important as you consider joining LuLaRoe that you find a sponsor and team who will help you maintain a positive mindset and encourage you.
